Trinity School, Portishead
Trinity Primary School is an important landmark within the community. It provides facilities, situated near the front of the building, for the local population. The entrance area has been designed with this in mind, to create a welcoming space for people to meet with seating, planting and ample space for groups.
An enclosed nature garden contains a pond and bog garden for attracting insects and amphibians. Raised planting beds encourage pupils to grow flowers and vegetables. Espalier fruit trees have been trained against the trellis fence and will provide decorative blossom in the spring and fruit in late summer. The playing fields provide large areas of green open space and are enclosed by native species of trees and hedges to enhance the existing wildlife. A racing track and climbing wall allow pupils to let off steam during playtime.
