Longleat Adventure and Safari Park
Since opening in 2013, Penguin Island and Sting Ray Bay have become key attractions at Longleat. Outside the building there is a controlled walk-through area allowing visitors to interact with the South American Humboldt penguins. Inside the building has a sculpted rock-scene and display pools allowing visitors to see the animals both above and below the water-line.
The building refined through pre-application collaboration with both the planning authority and English Heritage, and was carefully designed within the established attractions area, to avoid impacts on the heritage setting, including a belt of mature trees which form the backdrop to the main house. It was constructed by the Longleat Estates department, and a team of specialist theming experts.
