Bruton School for Girls
This project formed part of a master planning exercise that we undertook with the school that identified that 2 tennis courts were surplus to requirements. To preserve future scope for development, whilst making best use of their site in the short to medium term, we re-designed the tennis courts to link with neighbouring departments and provide valuable social and performance space. The science department and library are on either side of the space and the school identified that the pupils regularly rehearse the extensive performance programme throughout the school grounds. We subdivided the space into three with an outdoor science classroom and reading garden either side of a central outdoor performance space complete with stage.
