The planning consent for this building was extremely sensitive and extensive consultations and negotiations were held with the local planning authority. The architecture is contemporary and the use of the Western Red Cedar reflects the characteristics of the wooded environment and assists the building to blend into its surroundings. The remainder of the building materials are natural and reflect the sensitivity of the site.

The new building provides a four lane swimming pool, wet and dry male and female changing accommodation, together with a four badminton court sports hall. Ancilliary accommodation consists of viewing galleries and a multi gym and aerobics room.
