Epsom College Landscape
The refurbishment of three boarding houses all included new gardens and entrance landscapes which inject a fresh aesthetic whilst providing spaces to socialise. The designs repeat a palette of materials with brick walls, seating, paving and planting to provide a cohesive landscape throughout the campus.
The most significant landscape investment was in a new car park and access improvements. The car park presented particular planning challenges being in the London green belt. The site also included the potential for sensitive archaeology necessitating a Geophysical Survey.
NVB undertook a Landscape & Visual Impact Assessment to accompany the planning application. The design of the car park includes permeable paving, historically sensitive lighting that also accorded with the lighting restrictions to protect local bat foraging routes.
