The bird display area was opened in 2012 as a collaboration between Longleat and the Hawk Conservancy Trust in Andover. The attraction includes a 500 seat external amphitheatre, bird display area, aviaries, and small animal hospital, and is located at the rear of the estate.
The site is within a registered landscape, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), and close to a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI). The design was refined through extensive pre-application discussions to minimise impacts on the Capability Brown landscape, defined historic views, environmental setting.
